Kerela: The health department has revoked the suspension order of KC Ramesan, Superintendent, Kuthiravattom, and appointed him as superintendent of Government General Hospital, Kozhikode. This decision was taken after The Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) went on a strike against his suspension and perceived delay in his reinstalment.

The official was suspended after a remand prisoner lodged at the mental health facility died in a road accident after escaping from the Centre. However, the KGMOA has called the suspension a unilateral action and alleged the attempt was a stalling tactic to delay Mr Ramesan’s promotion.

Due to the KGMOA agitation, Health Minister, Veena George has directed Dr PP Preetha, Director-in-charge, Health Service to submit a report about the incident. The report was submitted to Principal Secretary, Health Services based on which the reinstalment decision was taken.
